I'm procrastinating. The lawn needs to get mowed (well as much as can be done until the petrol runs out) but i'm sitting on the couch with laptop watching Antony and The Johnsons videos on Youtube and eating fruit gums. Lastnight, I promised I would write about Pimps, Queens and Criminal Queers. The phrase is actually from a Cocorosie song called "Beautiful Boyz" written about Jean Genet, the dead French writer.
All those beautiful boys
Pimps and queens and criminal queers
All those beautiful boys
Tattoos of ships and tattoos of tears
Born illegitimately
To a whore, most likely
He became an orphan
Oh what a lovely orphan he was
Sent to the reformatory
Ten years old, was his first glory
Got caught stealing from a nun
Now his love story had begun
Thirty years he spent wandering
A devil's child with dove wings
He went to prison
In every country he set foot in
Oh how he loved prison
How awfully lovely was prison
His greatest love was executed
The pure romance was undisputed
Angelic hoodlums and holy ones
Angelic hoodlums and holy ones
All those beautiful boys
Pimps and queens and criminal queers
All those beautiful boys
Tattoos of ships and tattoos of tears
Anyway, I'm a little concerned about Abednigo as he seems really skittish and jittery since he came back. He's been away for a while and guinea pigs can be very sensitive to changes. The other two seem fine. Maybe the dogs freaked him out or perhaps it's just unfamiliar sounds and smells - he doesn't squeak when i shout "where's mummy's guineas?" that made me a little sad. But anyway R did a great job and I am most grateful :)
Work tomorrow - how depressing. There's not enough hours in the week when work takes up most of them :(

Yes, N dear, I would love a cup of tea.......
Anyway, my first livejournal post! how exciting! Except that I've suddenly developed writer's block.
All I can say is that i'm very glad to have my darling guinea pigs back home - the house feels like a home again and I have 3 more beings to look after.
Now I must go and do the dishes, put laundry in the drier, feed the guineas, tuck them in and 100 other things before bed. I can't imagine what it's going to be like when Pip's here.
I realise after reading over this that it's an incredibly boring post so next time i'll talk about pimps, queens and criminal queers.
Goodbye for now.
